To follow up with our Literacy Workshop, we set up centers in the classroom for the Owls to practice their handwriting and letter skills.
In one center, friends traced the big line, little line, big curve, and little curve to get more comfortable with the shapes of letters and how they are formed.
Owls participated in a letter matching game, similar to "Old Maid," where they had to find the two matching letters.
In another center, friends participated in completing an alphabet puzzle, and Alphabet game, where they placed the magnetic letter to its corresponding spot on the tray.
As our centers came to a close, the classroom opened up for choice. During choice time, the Owls enjoyed creating and writing stories, and making them into books.
Ask your Owl what the curves and lines help us to make!
