A day full of great Music and Books

The Owls Morning started off with our first Music in the Music Room! Aedin taught friends how to sing 'hello' using different high and low pitches.

Friends practiced their pitch by moving their hands up and down depending on what they were singing.

Next, each Owl got their own ladybug on a stick. Friends had to copy how Aedin held her drumsticks in her hand.

Some of the ways were very silly!

After the Owls perfected being Aedin's shadow, they had to try and keep the beat while Aedin played the recorder and drums.

Lastly, Aedin taught friends how to move their bodies to the beat of the music.

After Music Class, we headed back to our room for Morning Meeting and a Moment of Silence. Friends have been working extra hard on keeping their bodies nice and still and closing their eyes! After Morning Meeting, friends worked on a special secret project as a surprise for back to school night!

Once Choice Time was finished, we headed to the Library where Doris, our librarian, read us a story called I am Too Absolutely Small For School. Friends thought that it was very silly that Lola had an invisible friend and that she liked to drink pink milk!

Once the story was over, friends were able to go and choose a book to check out. Ask your Owl if they remember what book they chose to check out of the Library. We finished up our morning by heading outside to enjoy the beautiful weather!
