Worms, worms and more worms!

The Owl's morning started off with Morning Meeting - then we headed to Assembly. At Assembly the second graders put on an award show for their favorite books! The Owls were very excited because there were a lot of "Elephant and Piggy" books! Assembly was wrapped up by the Kindergarteners singing a song about Earth Day.

After Assembly, we headed back to our room for Choice Time. Friends choices were magnatiles, drawing, sandbox and two special projects!

For the first project, friends used yellow and orange ribbons and tied them around our large circle light to turn it into a sun for our zoo area! This project was super tricky because it took a lot of fine motor skills as well as patience. However the Owls are very determined, and they did a great job!

The second project was writing the name plates for our zoo animals! Together the Owls came up with names for each of our animals. Some of the names are very silly while others describe our animals perfectly! Ask your Owl if they remember what we named our Zebra!

After Choice Time, the Catbirds met us in our room for some inside/outside time. Friends were able to play inside the Owls room or out in the garden and mud kitchen area. The Owls thought it was very exciting and could be seen going in and out very frequently! While outside, friends helped Danielle dig up the weeds in our garden beds. The Owls loved playing with the dirt but their favorite part was finding all the slimy worms! Once all the worms were safely returned to their homes, the Owls said goodbye to the Catbirds and washed up for lunch!

Since the weather is getting nicer, we are asking if you can make sure your Owl has plenty of changes of clothes and rain boots, so your Owl can enjoy the mud kitchen as well as the pond.
