Pumpkin Self-Portraits

One day while exploring our garden, the Owls noticed that there was a pumpkin growing outside of our classroom. This made friends very excited! Friends came up with many ideas of what they thought we should do with the pumpkin. Some friends thought that we should pick and paint it while others thought we should let it be, so it could grow into a HUGE pumpkin! So friends made a compromise and decided to leave the pumpkin growing on its vine and that we can get pumpkins for us to paint! The Owls discussed different ideas of what they could paint the pumpkin to look like. Then one friend said, “I want to paint a pumpkin face!” This made all of our friends laugh, and they all agreed that they wanted to paint their faces on their pumpkins! Throughout the decorating process, friends talked about their similarities and differences. But most of all, friends found it very silly that their faces are on pumpkins!
