Clay and Books!

Today in Art, the Owls had the chance to use clay to make all sorts of things. Friends used their hands and different tools to manipulate the clay. This helped friends to use their imaginations and better practice fine motor skills.

Friends enjoyed flattening the clay to make pancakes.

Some Owls chose to make cakes out of their clay.

Other Owls enjoyed using the damp sponge to wet the clay.

Friends made their clay into birthday cakes and sang Happy Birthday to one another. Using the tools as candles!

After Art, we came together on the Morning Meeting rug for a Moment of Silence.

During Morning Meeting. one Owl read the Daily Schedule to friends...

...shared the question of the day...

...and went over the calendar.

This morning, we read Oops! Friends went over the cover, title, author, and illustrator of a book.

During choice, friends chose between cars and trucks...

...blocks...

...drawing and coloring...

...gears...

...and dollhouse.

Outside, Owls enjoyed playing by the pond.

Some Owls chose to play on the climber.

Making music is lots of fun!

Ask your Owl what the author and illustrator do for a book.
