Music and Library

Today, in Music, Aedin introduced us to a new instrument: the recorder.
To learn more about the recorder, the Owls played a game where they kept a fast or slow beat. If the recorder stopped on you, then you got to choose where to keep the beat.

Friends chose to keep the beat on their feet, knees, hands, chins, and more.

We went over the book from last week, and discussed what the squirrel in the story searched for. Then, we played the Hop Old Squirrel game, where one friend closed their eyes in the middle, while other friends hid acorns around the room. When the friend searching for the acorns has finished, they have to play the number of acorns they found on the chimes.
Everyone else has to guess how many they have found by listen and counting!

We read The Snowy Day. We cannot wait to learn the movement next week!

The Owls were more than excited for library this week! Doris read us books about animals.

Once friends checked out their books, they sat down to enjoy their new read.

Back in the classroom, friends headed into choice time.

Ask your Owl what book they checked out from the library.
