One-to-One Correspondence

Today in Art, we went over Vincent van Gogh. Amanda explained how we were going to make backdrops for our sunflowers.

First, we picked a color for the table.

Once friends picked out their table color, it was time to paint! Friends used finger-paint to paint the backdrop.

After Art, the Owls came back to the classroom for Math Workshop. The topic of the workshop was One-to-One Correspondence. In this center, numbers (1-5) were laid out, and friends had to lay out the amount of dots that corresponded to the number.

In the dot center, each Owl was given a colored dotter. Depending on which number was shown in the square, friends had to make that number of dots.

In the shape center, friends picked a number (1-5), and using a glue stick, glued that number of shapes to the paper.

In the stamp center, similar to the dot center, friends used stamps to correspond to the number shown in the box.

Once our Math Workshop: One-to-One Correspondence was complete, friends headed into Choice. Following Choice, the Owls went on a Letter Hunt. The Owls were placed into four teams. Each team was given a color and a clipboard with all the letters of the alphabet. Once a member of your team found a letter, you crossed it off.

Friends enjoyed working together to find letters. It was also really to fun to cross the letters off!

Ask your Owl to find 5 of the same the item.
